Automated Forest
The Automated forest is an environment specially designed to provide a synthetic version of a moment spent in the woods.
Robotic birds hang from the ceiling of a large room totally wallpapered with a photo-realistic wallpaper of a forest. They twist and chirp 8 bit synthetic tweets. The birds are controlled by an antique Acorn BBC Microcomputer. A bench is provided for the audience.
Two versions of the Automated forest exist: a day-night version and a day version.
Photos taken in Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff, BGL Luxemburg, MUDAM Luxemburg. The Automated Forest Day Version is part of the MUDAM’s permanent collection.
